LG Optimus Pro - Good enough to take on Blackberry?

LG is a major mobile phone manufacturing company. The company has announced its latest handset, LG Optmius Pro. The phone has impressive features. With QWERTY keyboard and messaging features, it is aimed at competing with the Blackberry devices in the market.

LG has launched many marvelous handsets in the market. The company is credited with bringing the touchscreen technology to the masses. It has introduced several touchscreen handsets in the market and has made them available at budget prices. This has ensured deeper penetration of touchscreen phones in the market. LG Optimus Pro is one of the latest devices that has been announced by the company and is expected to hit the market very soon.

LG Optimus Pro is a device that has a QWERTY keyboard and the latest Android OS. The features of the phone are promising. With 12.9 mm of thickness, the device is not competing to be one of those ‘slim’ smartphones in the market that are popular these days. But its solid built quality makes this device sturdy and strong. Weighin 129g, it has a 2.8 inch screen that offers the resolution of 240x320 pixels. The TFT capacitive touchscreen promises a vibrant and colourful display. The phone offers all the required connectivity features including 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPRS and EDGE. Though the in-built memory of the phone being 156 MB, is not much, but it has the Micro SD slot that can be used to expand memory upto 32 GB. The 3.12 mega pixel camera can record videos at 24 frames per seconds and click pictures . The phone will run on the powerful 800 MHZ processor and will come with the Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). The device has the FM radio and the 3.5 mm jack to enable music lovers enjoy the latest tracks. The 1500 mAh battery also looks good and the phone is expected to work for long time.

With QWERTY keyboard and a 2.8 mm screen, it’s a Blackberry-styled phone. Though it’s an Android device, it is more likely to compete with the Blackberry phones largely because of its keyboard and impressive messaging features. The spacious and comfortable-to-press keys on the keyboard make this phone ideal for ‘social networking’. Besides being available in White and Black colours, the phone will also be available in an additional ‘Titan’ colour.

Blackberry enjoys a strong reputation when it comes to the messaging facility offered by the company. LG Optimus Pro looks to be a good option but will it be able to attract customers away from Blackberry or not, that remains to be seen.
